Oliver kisses me goodbye through the glass panel of the front door (November 2006).
If you read Daddy blogs you’ll have read a lot about SAHDs. And there’s no doubting they are at the forefront of changing attitudes to parenting roles. But have you heard of the GTWDs?
That’s right, the Go To Work Dads.
I think it [...]

Lucy’s 3rd Birthday

Today, after months of claiming to be three years old, Lucy finally reached that milestone. She has her birthday party next Saturday so today we celebrated as a family.
She opened a few cards over breakfast and also a couple of her bigger presents: a pushchair with doll and a micro scooter. After Oliver’s swimming lesson [...]

While on holiday in Majorca (retrospective post to follow, no doubt), we spent a lot of time in the swimming pool and also a few forays into the sea. As a result, Oliver, who arrived on holiday using one polystyrene swim-band on each arm, had abandoned them completely by the end of the holiday, although [...]

Breakfast at McDonald’s: 5 quid.
Cycling to Subway for lunch, towing Oliver on the tag-a-long bike: 6 quid plus some sweating.

But here is a genuinely life-saving bicycle, used as an ambulance for pregnant [...]

Born to be Wild?
October 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment · biking, lucy
There are times that Lucy frightens me to death. The powerful combination of her determined nature and her desire to be mischievous has more than once pointed her towards danger. Such as the times she has run away laughing in the direction of a road. Or her refusal to listen when I told her not [...]

Daddy’s two/three-wheeled taxi

Oliver has a swimming lesson on Sunday mornings and last week when Hayley took Lucy along too the little lady misbehaved the whole time resulting in Hayley being away from the pool area for much of his lesson. (A fellow Mum he knows was was still there so he wasn’t worried.)
So this weekend we decided [...]
